Long time no blog
I'm just in read mode these days. But I successfully managed to gub my local PHP installation when trying to upgrade to the latest version. This meant quite a backlog of Quine news (still is). Annoyed myself again by confirming that my webhost wont offer XML/XSLT modules on the live PHP server...they want you to upgrade to a managed server rather than a shared server for those goodies. Love to but it's a bit too steep for my blood, well over a grand a year. So my attention turns once more to trusty auld freen Perl, Perl runs, XSLT module works on the live server. It just works, nae messin. I've still to get the XML versions of Quine news items translated into NewsML - a job for these long dark winter nights...and Xalan.

My current credit card is due to run out at the end of this month...which has unearthed some interesting bugs in some e-commerce sites which take incremental payments. Some of them say that my card is already out of date, uh, uh, it expires at the *end* of the month. I assume that there's lots of code out there < expirymonth rather than <=expirymonth 12:27:47 AM© Copyright 2002, Scottish Lass, www.scottishlass.co.uk, Contact:
