Fundraiser: Climb a Munro and Support the University of Glasgow

"The aim of Munro Challenge is to have a representative on the peak of each of the 284 Munros in Scotland over a weekend.  Walkers are encouraged to bag one or several Munros with friends or colleagues. The University of Glasgow is hoping to recruit walkers from all over the world to participate in this event, which will take place between 25th and 27th May 2002.  There are
still a number of Munros which are yet to be bagged, if you have a team who would be prepared to take on one or more Munros, please contact Kirsty Craig for more information on 0141 330 2503 or k.craig@admin.gla.ac.uk.
Teams should consist of two or more members, the organisers recommend that at least one member of the group is an experienced walker and familiar with route navigation.

It is hoped that participants will help raise funds for the nominated charity which is the BHF Glasgow Cardiovascular Research Centre.  Prizes will be on offer for the most sponsorship money raised and La Parmigiana Restaurant are sponsoring the prize for the best photograph taken at the top of a Munro, so why not support a much needed research facility and improve your fitness in one go?

University of Glasgow.

Learning in Scotland

Added a new category "Learning in Scotland" - there's so much happening in Scottish Education this year what with the promised "great debate" and all. The time for having a real guid think about what the purpose and role of our schools is in the 21st century. How do we service lifelong learning with a sustainable and self-suficient model, project handouts can't go on forever. The number of online projects and issue-based school sites is steadily increasing and of your we've yet to get broadband fully implemented across Scotland. Lot's to think about and lots to do. 12:07:21 AM
