OK - I've removed the layout tables in the Radio templates (apart from calendar) from Scottish Lass and Pop Idol sites. I've decided against doing a full publish until next month. At least the Pop idol pages will be fully updated when the calendar forces the previous entries this month to be uploaded. The style sheet has slightly increased in size but the page template has lost 0.5K - that's roughly 1MB of bandwidth saved each day. Every little helps.
10:10:33 PMOn my To Do list for this weekend.
- Ditch layout tables on Scottish Lass site and go completely for CSS. Republish entire site.
- Investigating compiling C/C++ on Linux servers -my command line Make skills are rusty - read over a decade old. This is mostly for work purposes - I'm trying to get a local copy of the W3 validator installed but need to compile the SP parser.
- Take another look at the OPML format and see what's involved in building a Radio renderer for nested outlines.
- A lorra, lorra reading. Just bought a suitably fat tome on XHTML and I've got a lot of catching up to do with a veritable menagerie of O'Reillys that have arrived whilst I've been absent on Pop Idol duties. Programming Jabber, Programming Web Services with SOAP,Running Weblogs with Slash and Learning Wireless Java.
Just another lazy weekend :-)
