More shopping. Just bought my Radio license for $40. What is it they say about "A fool and his money" :-) Incredible. I used to be a Frontier subscriber (licence now ~$1000 so Radio seems like exceptional value! The online purchasing has made it so much easier for us international users. For my first Frontier license Userland weren't accepting credit cards at the time so I had to get some exotic paperwork from the bank  - an International Money Order(?) and post it by airmail. Thankfully it all worked out eventually with Frontier but it took the best part of a month.A big improvement.

QVC is offering Adobe Acrobat 5 for £123.72 today - that's a nice chunk off the usual. Go to the QVC site and type in 418 351to their search box. 2:35:09 AM

I was looking for a utility to make screencaptures and came across this very handy freeware program Automatic WWW Screencapture Program 0.01 . Even better it can run in batch mode taking input from a tab delimited file and can generate either .bmp or jpeg and can scale the images. I wonder....

Would I end up with a visual directory of Quine links? Ooh that would be, well, cool. One of the things we've found at work is that it's all well and good to have link checkers but they tell you nothing about whether the *content* of a site has changed, yes you'll get a date but what if the domain has changed hands and the content is now nothing like the original that was linked to. This has obvious dangers with educational domains. A European project a few years ago allowed the registration to expire when the project was completed, the domain was then snapped up by, sigh, a porn outfit so you would have all these school pages with links to a porn site - a horrifying prospect.

Radio possiibilities (inspired by Garth Kidd's Throat):

Bugger. I want to try it but why are there never enough hours in the day...need to keep my strength up for the final of you-know-what. Incase you haven't already noticed(!) I've been stricken with Pop Idol fever. It's massive. From last week's site visitors alone  on the UserLand Site Report it has rocketed the Scottish Lass site from nowhere ~64th in the *all time* Radio hits, jeez I'm rubbing shoulders with Doc Searls stats-wise! Much higher and I'll have a nosebleed :-)
