Amazon delivery arrived today. The Wireless Java book looks pretty good. It's dizzying trying to keep up with advances in the Java world. Even if you're out of the developer loop for a few months you go back and find all the tools/apis you were using have been substantially upgraded. It's hard to keep up with all the 'goodies' being added. I have to say as APIs/tools evolve the best thing is the improvement in the installation routines. As a hardened hacker you rou read readme's and sigh, just roll up the sleeves and faff around editing configuration files all over the place, rebooting, then you find the latest update has an automated installer, click the button wait a few seconds and away you go. Sometimes you feel a bit suspicious when things go so quickly, part of your brain is saying "I'm sure there was more to it than that". I've now got the Forte version of the J2ME wireless toolkit installed.

Just been doing some tidying up on the Quine Online
International Women's Day 2002 in Scotland microsite. OK so only really changing the dates and adding the two events so far into the text DB. Need to get rid of the 2001 in the graphic. A bit annoyed with Fireworks, this is about the third time I've been busy doing something else and tried to launch Fireworks and its failed but if I reboot it's OK. Stability is numero uno for busy webmasters.

I seem to be cultivating a cold. Sore throat->stuffy nose now progressed to runny nose. Where's the curry pot noodles when you want them?
