More distraction. I don't know why but I've been overcome with the urge to build a Java desktop app using Swing. Maybe it's since organising my computer books into a proper bookcase the JFC heavyweight tomes have tell-tale unbroken spines...must do something about that. I dug out Forte for Java to find of course many updates needed since the last time I used it. I really notice quite a speed improvement using my laptop which must be at least 3 times quicker than my work machine at starting Forte, it's almost bearable.

I want to get to the bottom of properties files, I can hardly remember how to use them but I remember thinking "The next time I do a project I must remember to use them from the start". Changing configurations and screen prompts just from editing a text file is great when you're prototyping or internationalising software.

Can I make New Years Resolutions in October? To maybe cut down on my perpetual 'upgrade cycle' and actually bloody complete something. I can dream can't I? 12:40:52 AM
